A congregation's call to action

The congregation of an Episcopal church came together to formulate a call to action against social injustice, seeking to alleviate the fear, ignorance, greed, and willful discrimination that hurt so many in society today. This call was interpreted and collectively addressed at each location around the circle, according to the capacity, interests, and situation of each location and its community. Read the complete call to action here

The congregation’s call to action was sent by St. Philip’s Church in Harlem, the oldest black Episcopal parish in New York City and the second oldest in the country, founded in 1809 by free Africans.
